MemoryJar is an iOS App designed to help you manage and offload your iOS media library to external storage. Your privacy is fundamental to our App architecure. This policy explains exactly how we handle your data.
Photo Library Access: MemoryJar requires access to your Photo Library to perform its core functions. We only access media to:
No Data Exfiltration: Your photos and videos never leave your device except when you explicitly initiate an export to your own external hardware (USB-C) or network storage (SMB/SFTP). We do not operate any central servers that collect, store, or see your media.
All library analysis, sorting, and source categorization happen entirely on-device. We use Apple's native frameworks to ensure that your metadata remains private and secure within the iOS sandboxed environment.
When you use the SMB or SFTP export features, you are connecting directly to your own infrastructure. MemoryJar does not act as a middleman. Any credentials you enter for these servers (usernames, passwords, SSH keys) are stored securely in the iOS Keychain, ensuring they are encrypted and never accessible to us.
We employ enterprise-grade security for your data transfers:
If you choose to submit feedback or bug reports, we may collect basic technical logs (device model, iOS version, app version). These logs never include your personal media or identifiable information.
Since we do not store your data on our own servers, we cannot "delete" or "export" your data for you—you already have total control over it. You can revoke the app's access to your Photo Library at any time via iOS Settings.
